THE CASSANDRA SYNDROME
To have comprehensively and accurately envisioned a dismal and catastrophic future;
Yet never been able to enlist sufficient credibility to forestall this.
To have perceived the vast potentialities and glorious advantages of positive changes;
And be condemned to never seeing these realized.
To know beyond doubt why most human relationships do not work;
Yet be unable to galvanize anyone to do what is necessary to promote function.
To exist emotionally and intellectually becalmed where the road forks
On the highway to a peaceful and happy future.
To have gleaned the realization that free will
Implies the possibility of happiness, in a human ocean
of ignorance and hopelessness.
To have personally experienced the truism that the
truth shall make us free;
In a world where beliefs and opinions are determined
by interests, and faith in what must be.
